听到对耶稣啧啧称奇的报道，黑落德说：“若翰我已经斩首了；这人到底是谁？关于他，我竟听到了这样的事！”之后，他便想法看看耶稣。
今天是圣老楞佐·卢斯的纪念日，他是菲律宾的第一位圣人。在1637年，自圣人在日本被绞死的两天里，直到他流血殉道，他始终没有背叛天主教之信仰。圣老楞佐·卢斯死前曾说：“我是天主教的教友老楞，乐意为主去死。如果我可以活一千年，我愿意全部奉献于天主”。圣老楞佐·卢斯及其他殉道同伴的血是保持基督的教会活力与朝气的种子老楞，并使万事万代的人渴望与基督相见。
我们祈求圣老楞佐·卢斯为我们代祷，使我们无论健康与否，都用来光荣天主。

Hearing amazing reports about Jesus, “Herod said, ‘John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?’ And he kept trying to see Him.”
Today is the Memorial of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino Saint. He was hung upside down in Japan (1637) for 2 days till he bled to death, all the while refusing to deny he was Christian. Before he died, he said, “I am a Catholic and happy to die for God. If I have a thousand lives, I will offer them all to God.” His blood (and all martyrs) joined to that of Jesus is the seed that keeps Christianity alive & vibrant, making people of all generations want to see Jesus.
Let us ask San Lorenzo’s help in asking to be used like him to give glory to God regardless of health.
